Imagine how one small bag can make a large difference… The Giving Bag Project began as a distribution project during The Giving Heart’s 2007 Community Thanksgiving Feast. To date, over 4000 Giving Bags have found their way into the hands of many in the Greater Richmond Metropolitan area. This year-round project allows individuals, families and groups to help us continue providing small items to the needy, the elderly, the disabled and homeless. As we broaden this project to meet year-round needs, we will partner with other organizations to collaborate on ways to reach further into the community, serving those who would otherwise go without. Upcoming Project - "Secret Valentine" Giving Bags Donation Deadline: February 11, 2012 Distribution Date: February 12-14, 2012 Help us to send a little cheer to many of the elderly in the Greater Richmond area by donating items to create our Secret Valentine Giving Bags. Special emphasis for this Giving Bag project will be on any of the following items:
Volunteers will get together on Saturday, February 11th, to create the actual "Secret Valentine" bags and ready them for distribution. Volunteer needs will be based on the amount of donations collected. Do you represent a group? Consider your own off-site "Secret Valentine" project - collecting and creating bags that, completed, can be donated to The Giving Heart for distribution.
